Criminology in the 21st century: Dynamics of Crime, Sociopathological Phenomena and Societal Responses
The section focuses on current criminological issues related to the dynamics of crime and socially pathological phenomena in the conditions of modern 21st-century society. Attention is directed towards developmental trends in crime, the emergence of new forms of unlawful behaviour, as well as social, economic, technological, and cultural factors influencing their origin and spread.
The section provides a platform for presenting theoretical, empirical, and interdisciplinary approaches to the study of crime, including issues of crime prevention, criminal policy, responses of public authorities, as well as broader societal reactions to socially pathological phenomena. The discussion is open to contributions reflecting both traditional and emerging criminological phenomena, including issues of juvenile delinquency, economic and organised crime, cybercrime, extremism, and victimology.
The aim of the section is to promote professional discussion, the exchange of scientific knowledge, and the presentation of current research findings that contribute to a deeper understanding of crime and to the development of effective preventive and repressive mechanisms in contemporary society.
