When the Environment Is Part of Success: Business in the Era of Sustainability
The section explores on how environmental protection is becoming a natural part of successful business in the EU and how it shapes project decision-making from initial preparation through to operation. We welcome papers covering the entire “life cycle” of a project—from the preparation of supporting documentation, through spatial planning and environmental impact assessment/strategic environmental assessment (EIA/SEA), permitting procedures and the implementation of the activity itself, including monitoring and control, due diligence, compliance, and liability for environmental damage. Contributions are also invited on preventive and remedial mechanisms, environmental damage, sanctions, access to justice and the role of administrative authorities and courts, as well as the use of data and digitalisation in impact assessment and evidentiary practices.
