Working and Living Conditions of Women in the 21st Century
Persistent discrimination against women on the labour market has been exacerbated in recent years by the consequences of the pandemic and war. In addition to the financial (in) security of the family, working women had to take care of the children and the household, which is especially hard on single mothers and women who have nowhere to put their children due to the absence of preschool facilities. At the same time, the conditions of the labour market are constantly changing, the majority of vacant positions are in the technical sector and many occupations are threatened with cancellation due to artificial intelligence, which will mostly affect women working in services. This section is focused on the position of women on the labour market in times of crisis as well as in the period of the expected arrival of AI on the labour market. The focus is multidisciplinary, a view on the issues of gender equality, unpaid work, social protection and working conditions of women on the labour market is welcome.
